The city that holds names like `The city of happiness', `The city of joy' and even more is a magical allure for the tourists. Salvador city in the state of Bahia in Brazil had lot of smiles to define them. The society here is the most vibrant one with much variety of cultural activities. The city clutches with it a miraculous charm.

Museums

The museums are frequently described as the vicinities where `the mankind has kept the facts' from the ancient Greece itself. It is the place, which the people used as treasure to enhance themselves and the worth of their lives. The museum in the Brazil keeps with them the most unique pieces of the history. From the oldest museum Museu de Arta de Bahia (MAB) to the newest one Museu Nautico is culture is preserved. The voyage through the museums is a distinctive one throughout the corners of the history.

The symbolic value of the history, which is preserved in the museums, is even more than what we could imagine. The valuable pieces of art of various religions, the items, which are ornamental from the old manors of the great families and public figures of the state, are present here. The other major museums are Arte Sacra, Abelardo and Rodrigues. The oldest museum Museu de Arte de Bahia has in it great paintings, porcelain, furniture and sacra pieces of the 17 th and 18 th centuries. The private owned items such as art pieces, tapestry, objects made of crystal, sacra pieces, and china porcelain and other furniture from the 18 th and 19 th centuries were visible in the Museum Costa Pinto. It also had many precious jewellery made of gold and silver.

The heritage of the old Salvador was preserved in the Museu da Cicade. The religious images and statues and other Orixa stautues, which belonged to the public personalities, are conserved here. Museu Nautico, in Forte de Santo Antonio da barra, Museu da Comunicação museums is widely spread throughout Salvador, which was built after the renovation of forts.

Theaters

In the 16 th century when the Portugal colonized due to the impact of their culture in Brazil theaters were started. The live performances were carried out ion the public places, clubs ans schools in the capital, as there was no proper theater. The first venture in the theatrical process in Brazil was Santo Antonio Theater, which was constructed in one of the salons of Solar Santo Antonio in 1957. Still the theater exists imparting facilities to the students in the Universities of the State. The subsequent theater build in Salvador was the Vila Velha Theater, in 1964.

The sparkle of the limited dramatic panorama is strong, enlightening novel talent and high-quality the stage like , Ëles Não Usam Black Tie (from 1964, starred by Gianfrancesco Guarnieri), and current "break" like "Os Cafajestes", Öficina Condensada" and "A Bofetada", shaped by Cia Baiana de Patifaria.
